Glow for your tone, not lighter skin.
Why uncaast exists
Skincare that sees brown skin clearly.
Most skincare still runs on a fairness narrative: your skin, but lighter.
Sunscreens are imported from formulas tested on Fitzpatrick I to III, then sold to a country that lives at IV to VI. The result is grey casts, oxidised tints, and "brightening" actives that trade short-term glow for long-term barrier damage. We are not here to translate fairness messaging into softer words. We are here to reject the premise.
Brand manifesto
The name is the mission: un-caast.
No white cast on your skin. No caste of skin tones where lighter ranks higher. Healthy, even, confident skin, without changing your skin colour: formulated for melanin-rich skin from the first ingredient, and proven by independent labs before a single claim reaches the label.
Skin barrier health over instant brightness.
Clinical testing over empty claims.
Real relevance for daily life, weather and skin behaviour.
Testing, in the open
Every claim earns its place on the label.
Where both products actually stand today. Open any step to see the method. This updates as results come back, including the ones that disappoint us.
Four of six pre-launch studies complete. Two remaining before we publish a single number.
Skin irritation, Pigmentation Serum Complete
A 24-hour Primary Irritation Patch Test on 24 healthy volunteers, run against a positive control and a negative control. The serum was found non-irritant.
Heavy metals screening Complete
Independent screening of both formulas for arsenic, lead, mercury, chromium, tin and copper. Every metal came back below the limit of quantification.
Microbiological analysis Complete
Testing for E. coli, Salmonella and total viable count. Both pathogens absent, viable count below one colony-forming unit per millilitre.
In-vitro SPF and UVA pre-screen Complete
A laboratory pre-screen of the sunscreen’s filter system, run before committing to the more expensive in-vivo study. Results are in hand and under review while we finalise the formula.
In-vivo SPF and UVA verification Booking
Human panel testing at an accredited laboratory. This is the study that permits an SPF number on a label, and we will not print one until it is finished.
Shade panels on Fitzpatrick III to VI In progress
All three shades assessed at real-world application amounts in natural daylight, on the skin tones they are made for. Any shade showing a cast or grey shift does not ship.
uncaast products are cosmetics. They support even, healthy-looking skin. They do not treat medical conditions. We publish a claim only once a completed, final report supports it.

The question that matters
Everything worth knowing before you buy, from shade matching to what we test. Still curious? Message us on Instagram and we'll answer personally.
Why should I trust the claims?
Because we do not ask you to. Every claim is tied to a specific independent test: SPF and UVA verification to ISO standards, shade panels on brown skin, and consumer studies on Fitzpatrick III to V volunteers. Proof over promises is one of the three pillars this brand is built on.
